International Executive Board Elections Process

COL NOMINATIONS PROCESS
Over the last 18 months, the Committee on Leadership (COL) has worked to slate the next International Executive Board. They have solicited candidate nominations from the membership, developed candidate evaluation tools, evaluated candidate applications and references, conducted candidate interviews, and gathered together as a group at the Executive Office to finally form the slate. The 2008-10 International Executive Board slate has been announced. Elections take place during Convention 2008 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

NEW ELECTIONS PROCESS
Article X Section 1 of the Alpha Phi International Constitution provides that "members may nominate other members or themselves to run against the slated candidates."  As such, any non-slated alumna member in good standing who wishes to be considered for election to the 2008-10 International Executive Board by Convention Assembled must complete the application and
submit it to the Elections Committee by April 9, 2008, at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Click here for the application.

The election of the Alpha Phi International President and Executive Board shall be made at Convention Assembled in accordance with the Constitution. The Committee on Leadership will move its slate of candidates to be approved by the Convention. If approved by a majority vote, the slate of candidates will be duly elected. If the COL's slate does not receive a majority of votes, a ballot is given to each delegate. A majority of the votes received for the office of President shall constitute the election of the President. A plurality of the votes received for the offices of Board members at large shall constitute election of the Board members at large.

If you have any questions about the elections process, please contact Frannie Dunlavy, chair of the Elections Committee.
