Challenge Contest RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT
OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN
THIS CONTEST. A purchase will not improve
chances of winning.

You have not yet won.
1. This competition is
for Alpha Phi Silver and Bordeaux Chapters
located in the 50 United States and the
District of Columbia to recruit the highest
number of registered members for the SELF
Challenge during the promotion period.
Every eligible SELF Challenge member who
signs up and designates your chapter as the
recruiting affiliation will earn your
chapter one vote. The Alpha Phi Silver
Chapter (1-7 sororities on campus) and
Bordeaux Chapter (8 or more sororities on
campus) that accumulates the most votes at
the end of the competition will be declared
the “Winners” and will receive a catered
event at an Alpha Phi secured location in
the fall of 2010.
Promotion begins on
February 18, 2010, at 12:01 A.M. ET, and
ends on June 30, 2010, at 11:59 P.M. ET,
when all entries must be received.
Challenge participants must sign up via
Self.com/challenge. Challenge entries that
are lost, late, misdirected, incorrect,
garbled or incompletely received for any
reason, including by reason of hardware,
software, browser or network failure,
malfunction, congestion or incompatibility
at Sponsor’s servers or elsewhere, will not
be eligible. Sponsor, at its sole
discretion, reserves the right to disqualify
any person tampering with the SELF Challenge
entry process or the operation of the
website. Use of bots or other automated
processes to enter is prohibited and may
result in disqualification at the sole
discretion of Sponsor. Sponsor further
reserves the right to cancel, terminate or
modify any promotion not capable of
completion as planned, including by reason
of infection by computer virus, bugs,
tampering, unauthorized intervention, force
majeure or technical failures of any sort.
In the event of a dispute, SELF Challenge
entries will be deemed submitted by the
authorized account holder of the email
address submitted at the time of entry.
“Authorized account holder” is defined as
the natural person who is assigned to an
email address by an Internet access
provider, online service provider or other
organization (e.g., business, educational
institute) that is responsible for assigning
email addresses for the domain associated
with the submitted email address.
2. Two (2) winners
will be chosen. The one (1) Alpha Phi Silver
chapter and the one (1) Bordeaux chapter
with the most entries at the end of the
Promotion Period will be declared the
winners. All decisions of the judges are
final and binding in all respects. The prize
is a catered event (at a venue provided by
the winning chapter) in the fall 2010
semester. Sponsor will choose the caterer.
No alcohol will be provided. The approximate
retail value of the prize is $1,500 for each
chapter.
3. All federal, state
and/or local income and other taxes, if any,
are the sole responsibility of the winner.
4. Open only to Alpha
Phi Collegiate Chapters in the 50 United
States and the District of Columbia.
5. Subject to all
federal, state and local laws and
regulations. Void outside the 50 United
States and the District of Columbia, and
where prohibited. Any violation of these
rules may result in disqualification.
Sponsor is not responsible for errors in the
administration or fulfillment of this
contest, including without limitation
mechanical, human, printing, distribution or
production errors, and may modify or cancel
this promotion based upon such error at its
sole discretion without liability.
6. No prize or any
portion thereof is transferable or
redeemable for cash. No substitutions for
prize except by Sponsor, in which case a
prize of equal or greater value will be
substituted.
7. All entries become
the property of Sponsor and will not be
acknowledged or returned. Limit: one entry
per person and per email address during the
Promotion Period.
8. Except where
prohibited: (i) Acceptance of prize
constitutes the consent to use the winning
Alpha Phi Chapter member’s names and
likenesses for editorial, advertising and
publicity purposes, without further
compensation; (ii) members of the potential
winning Alpha Phi Chapter may be required to
sign an Affidavit of Eligibility (including
Social Security number) and
Liability/Publicity release, which must be
returned within ten (10) days of attempted
notification or an alternate winner may be
chosen.
9. For the name of the
winning Alpha Phi Chapter, send a
self-addressed stamped envelope—after June
30, 2010, but before December 30, 2010—to
Winner List, Alpha Phi and 2010 SELF
Challenge, SELF Magazine Promotion
Department, 4 Times Square, 5th
Floor, New York, NY 10036. The sponsor of
