National Panhellenic Conference

In 1902 Alpha Phi invited Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega to a conference in Chicago on May 24; Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega were not able to attend.

The session resulted in the organization of the first interfraternity association and the first inter-group organization on college campuses. This group formed the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC).

There are currently 26 member groups whose representatives meet annually. NPC is an organization established to foster interfraternity relationships, to assist collegiate chapters of the NPC member groups and to cooperate with the colleges and universities in maintaining the highest scholastic standards. Detailed NPC standards are posted on the NPC Web site.

Involvement With Your Campus or Alumnae Panhellenic
An Alumnae Panhellenic Association (APH) offers alumnae of the 26 member groups of the National Panhellenic Conference leadership and social opportunities beyond the college years. An APH represents an ongoing commitment of women to promote and foster the Greek experience. For information on joining an Alumnae Panhellenic in your area, contact one of Alpha Phi's NPC Delegates listed above.

College Panhellenic Associations (CPH) develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternal relations at colleges and universities. They promote scholarship, leadership and dissemination of information important to women in general. The CPH is the coordinating body for recruitment. Collegians interested in getting involved in their school's CPH should contact the college directly. Alumnae interested in assisting with a College Panhellenic should contact one of Alpha Phi's NPC Delegates listed above.
