Quarterly Internship

Internship Opportunity- Alpha Phi Quarterly

Students will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in magazine publication.

Internship Description: The intent of this 8- or 16-week internship program is to provide students with the opportunity to gain professional hands-on magazine experience in the not-for-profit sector. Students will work with the internship coordinator to develop a curriculum of focus to build a professional work portfolio.

 Internships are based in Evanston, Ill. and are unpaid. Candidates may be able to receive academic credit. Completing an internship with Alpha Phi International, Inc., does not guarantee employment with the organization.

Requirements: Ideal candidates should be majoring in journalism, communications or a related discipline. Must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team environment. Knowledge of Associated Press style highly desirable.

 Digital Archivist Internship

Internship Opportunity- Digital Photo Archivist

Alpha Phi International Fraternity is a non-profit member-based organization located in Evanston, Ill., actively promoting scholarship, service and sisterhood since 1872. The Fraternity currently seeks an intern to create and organize a digital photo library.

Requirements: The ideal candidate should be majoring in photography, museum studies, public history, art history or a related discipline. Must be a self-starter and have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. The intern will work independently, reporting directly to the internship supervisor.

Internships are based in Evanston, Ill. and are unpaid. Candidates may be able to receive academic credit. Completing an internship with Alpha Phi International, Inc., does not guarantee employment with the organization.

Operations Internship

Internship Opportunity - Membership Services

Internship Description: This position will help aide the Program Manager of Membership Services in daily work. The person who serves in this role will report to the Program Manager of Membership Services and the Director of Operations. The intent of this internship program is to provide students with the opportunity to gain professional hands-on student services experience within the fraternity and sorority field. The student will work with the internship coordinator to focus to create a learning experience for a student who wishes to go into Higher Education and Student Affairs or Counseling field. The internship is an unpaid internship.

Requirements: Ideal candidates should be a graduate student with an interest in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or nonprofit management. Must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team environment. The ability to work at the Executive Office located in Evanston, Il is preferred but not required. The intern will work independently, reporting directly to the internship supervisor.

Alpha Phi Foundation Marketing Internship

Founded in 1956, Alpha Phi Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance women's lives through the power of philanthropy. The Foundation is the philanthropic and educational partner of Alpha Phi International Fraternity. Through contributions from chapters and individuals, the Foundation funds programming focused on five vital areas: scholarship, leadership, heritage, assistance grants to support sisters and collegiate chapters facing crisis situations, and women's heart health. 

Students will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in one or more of the following areas of focus:

  • Written Communication
  • Social Media
  • Marketing

Internship Description: The intent of this spring-term internship program is to provide students with the opportunity to gain professional experience working with Alpha Phi Foundation's online properties and social media channels to drive integrated campaigns related to marketing and engagement. 

Potential duties include social media coordination, developing marketing resources for collegiate chapters, developing newsletters and blog posts. Students will work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to build a professional work portfolio. 

Internships are based in Evanston, IL and are unpaid. Candidates may be able to receive academic credit. Completing an internship with Alpha Phi Foundation does not guarantee employment with the organization.

Requirements: Ideal candidates should be majoring in communications, marketing or a related discipline. Must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and work in a team environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office for Windows and social media platforms required. Familiarity with a web content management system platform and knowledge of newsletter platforms such as MailChimp or Constant Contact are desired.
