The Gamma Alpha chapter at San Diego State University is the 2011 Bordeaux Division winner of the SELF Challenge in the large campus category! The SELF Challenge promotes good health through nutrition and exercise. Having won the SELF Challenge, the Gamma Alpha chapter was most excited about the high morale and positive mentality the chapter would possess going into the new academic year. Gamma Alpha Chapter President Brittany Rusin says, "To see that we are being recognized for something that we definitely worked very hard for is a reassuring and refreshing way to start the upcoming fall semester."
Since the announcement of their SELF Challenge win, the San Diego State Alpha Phis celebrated their SELF sponsored event by taking a retreat to La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. The chapter was blessed with beautiful weather and spent the day enjoying the serenity of the resort and participating in yoga, which was a great stress detox and perfect exercise for a Sunday afternoon. After yoga, members chatted poolside with platters of fruit and cheese and crackers.
Meghan Mietus, Director of Member Development, said the following about the retreat: "It felt like a mini-vacation-- a perfect escape from our daily busy schedules to enjoy time together as sisters. Overall, it was a memorable and relaxing afternoon!
Congratulations once again to the Gamma Alpha chapter for their win in the Bordeaux division!
