Job Title:                     Risk Management Specialist

Reports To:                  Director, Collegiate Operations

 

Position Summary:

 

Responsible for providing expertise and support to Executive Office staff and CCAs in the areas of risk and harm reduction.

 

Key Job Elements:

  • Assist in the management of emergency situations as requested
  • Analyze trends in the areas of risk management and Watchcare, and help to develop training and resources for collegiate chapters to assist them in addressing risk
  • Assist chapters in the creation of Emergency Procedures and chapter communication plans as requested
  • Audit event planning forms and VPRM officer reports as requested, noting deficiencies that need to be addressed with the chapter
  • Work with CCAs to educate and communicate with chapters on deficiencies
  • Visit chapters as requested to assist with chapter education related to risk management
  • Participate in occasional calls with the International Director of Collegiate Operations to discuss trends and updates regarding risk management.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience working with Harm and Risk Prevention, Reduction and Management
  • Understanding of Alpha Phi International Policies and Procedures, with specific focus on Standing Rules
  • Understanding of Alpha Phi's CCOM, Judiciary Board Guidebook, Event Planner forms and other risk management tools and materials
  • Alpha Phi resources and tools, including Officer Portal

  • Experienced in areas of budgeting, collections, contracts, finance and forecasting procedures

 

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • PC skills and comfort level with Word and e-mail
  • Ability to work through difficult incidents and reach a collaborative and safe outcome
  • Flexible, proactive and self-directed but also able to work well on a team
  • Ability to identify trends in collegiate risk management

Expectations

  • Estimated time commitment of 5 to 10 hours per month
  • Must be member in good standing as defined by the Fraternity's Constitution and Bylaws
