Alpha Phi is always looking for volunteers to help with our collegiate chapters, support structures and international projects. Please browse the volunteer opportunities below. Volunteer Job Descriptions: 

International Level

  • International Executive Board Member: Serve on the governing and policy-making body of the Fraternity.  In accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws, the Board has full authority over and responsibility for the activities and operations of the Fraternity.  The IEB, in partnership with the Executive Director and Board Committees, works to ensure the continued health and growth of the Fraternity.
  • Strategy Committees: Serve on an International level committee that develops strategy and makes policy recommendations to the International Executive Board (IEB) for their consideration and approval.  Those committees currently include:
    • Alumnae Strategy Team (AST)
    • Collegiate Chapter Strategy Committee (CCSC)
    • Extension Committee
    • Finance and Audit Committee (FSC)
    • Housing Strategy Committee (HSC)
    • Strategic Planning Committee (SPC)
  • Collegiate Training Task Force Leader:  Lead task forces charged with analyzing best practices from collegiate chapters and using them to create examples and resources for other chapters.  Reports to Collegiate Chapter Strategy Committee. 


Quadrant  Level

Alumnae Positions

  • Alumnae Engagement Manager (AEM): Coordinate all alumnae activities and outreach within assigned area that promotes lifetime engagement in Alpha Phi.  Act as operative link between local alumnae chapters, individual alumnae, collegiate chapters and the Alumnae Strategy Team (AST).  Reports to the Executive Director.
  • Alumnae Chapter Administrator (ACA): Encourage maximum growth and long-term success of the alumnae chapters in her assigned area; assist alumnae chapter presidents with chapter recruitment/retention; assist the Alumnae Membership Department in defining, creating and delivering programs and services to assigned alumnae chapters.  Reports to an Alumnae Engagement Manager.

  • Alumnae Panhellenic Administrator (APA): Responsible for forging a connection with Alpha Phi alumnae who serve as representatives to local Alumnae Panhellenic Alumnae groups and recruiting new representatives.  Reports to an Alumnae Engagement Manager.

  • Alumnae Affinity Administrator (AAA): Encourage, facilitate and support the relationship of the alumnae of collegiate chapters to the collegiate members of that chapter, and to then assist in connecting that relationship to Alpha Phi International Fraternity and the Alpha Phi Foundation.  Reports to an Alumnae Engagement Manager.

  • Alumnae Affinity Specialist (AAS): to encourage, facilitate and support the relationship for the alumnae of a collegiate chapter to the collegiate members of that chapter.  Additionally she assists in extending that relationship to each other and to Alpha Phi International Fraternity and the Alpha Phi Foundation.  Reports to an Alumnae Affinity Administrator.

Collegiate Positions

  • Collegiate Chapter Manager (CCM): Provide support and direction to assigned CCAs; together the CCM and CCA determine collegiate chapter priorities and objectives.  Supervise and direct CCAs to ensure implementation of strategies which improve collegiate chapter health.  Reports to the Executive Director.
  • Collegiate Chapter Administrator (CCA): Provide support and facilitate communication of Alpha Phi policies and objectives to assigned collegiate Chapter Advisors, HCB Presidents and CPC Chairs; supervise and direct Chapter Advisors and CPC Chairs to ensure implementation of strategies which address priorities, accomplish objectives and improve collegiate chapter health.  Reports to a Collegiate Chapter Manager.

Applications for the 2015-2017 biennium will open in Spring 2015.

  • Extension Team Lead: Facilitate communication within colony teams, identify and analyze needs, challenges and opportunities, and recommend actions to be taken; work in collaboration with staff, colony team members and local volunteers to manage budget and coordinate resources in order to ensure Alpha Phi's strength on campus.  Reports to the Director of Collegiate Extension.

  • International Governor: Identify and analyze a chapter's needs, challenges and opportunities; work with staff, the Collegiate Chapter Strategy Committee and Chapter Advisor to determine the chapter's priorities and develop and implement strategies to improve overall chapter health.  Reports to the Director of Collegiate Recruitment.

Specialist Positions
  • Bylaws Specialist: Assist in inventorying and analyzing collegiate chapter bylaws, determining which chapters need assistance in updating their bylaws either because they are outdated or they contain inappropriate items, and developing procedures on how to work with Collegiate Chapter Administrators and chapter officers to provide guidance.
  • Finance Specialist: Provide financial support and education to assigned chapter officers and advisors as well as CCAs and CCMs as needed.  Reports to the Program Manager, Collegiate Finance.
  • Judiciary Board Specialist: Assist in identifying errors in current collegiate chapter Judiciary Board practices and assist in creating resources to address the errors.  Reports to the Program Manager, Collegiate Chapter Development.
  • Risk Management Specialist: Provide support to collegiate chapters in the areas of risk and harm reduction.  Reports to the Director, Operations.
  • Housing Specialist: Provide support to House Corporation Boards in specific areas of expertise.  Reports to the Program Manager, Collegiate Housing.

Chapter Level

Advisor Positions

  • Chapter Advisor:  The key volunteer responsible for providing leadership, guidance and support to the local collegiate chapter, ensuring the chapter's strong health and continued growth. Reports to a Collegiate Chapter Administrator.

  • Recruitment AdvisorProvides leadership, guidance and support to the officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Membership Recruitment department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Marketing Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Marketing department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Finance Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the financial officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Chapter Operations department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Chapter Operations Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the non-financial officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Chapter Operations department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Risk Management Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Risk Management department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Programming and Education Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Programming and Education department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

  • Campus Affairs Advisor: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the officers and programs in a collegiate chapter's Campus Affairs department. Reports to a Chapter Advisor.

Alumnae Chapter Positions

  • Alumnae Chapter President :  The key volunteer position serving as an advocate for lifetime engagement in Alpha Phi by leading, planning and executing activities in a geographic area which allow alumnae to connect with each other and Alpha Phi International.  Reports to an Alumnae Chapter Administrator.

  • Alumnae Panhellenic Delegate: Volunteer positions that represent Alpha Phi in Alumnae Panhellenics.  Reports to an Alumnae Panhellenic Administrator.

Housing Positions

  • House Corporation Board Members:  Volunteer positions that help to support and maintain Alpha Phi chapter houses, ensuring collegiate facilities are safe, campus-appropriate and well managed.  Independently managed; reports to a Collegiate Chapter Administrator on matters related to Alpha Phi policy.

Chapter Property Committee Chairs: Provides leadership, guidance and support to the collegiate Director of Chapter Facilities, ensuring collegiate meeting facilities leased from a University or landlord are safe, campus-appropriate and well managed. Reports to a Collegiate Chapter Administrator.
