International Alumnae Dues FAQ

Q: What are alumnae dues?

A: International alumnae dues are yearly contributions alumnae make to Alpha Phi International. They include your Founders' Day Pennies (a penny for every year Alpha Phi has been in existence) as well as dollars that help fund the ongoing programs, products and services that keep Alpha Phi strong. By paying your dues, you are showing your outward commitment to Alpha Phi.

Q: How much are dues?

A: Annual dues for 2017 (July 1, 2016 - June 30, 2017) cost $38.44. As another option, you can pay lifetime dues in the amount of $450 and never have to worry about paying your dues again!

Q: Where does my money go? Why are my dues important?

A: Alpha Phi International is constantly working on developing new, exciting programs and opportunities for its members. From production of the award-winning Quarterly magazine to the colonization of new collegiate chapters, your dues help us improve the current and expand to new frontiers.

Q: Why do I have to start paying dues now? I thought I was done paying when I graduated?

A: Actually, you've been paying your International dues throughout your college experience; they were included in the larger dues you paid to your chapter that included other costs (i.e. housing, merchandise or formals). You are an Alpha Phi forever but to remain in "good standing" and to benefit from all that Alpha Phi has to offer, paying your dues is essential.

Q: What do I get from dues?

A: When you pay your dues, you receive a full subscription to the Quarterly magazine, a host of corporate discounts through Working Advantage and a one-year subscription to Self, Condé Nast Traveler, or Bon Appetit magazine! You may opt out of Self, Condé Nast Traveler, or Bon Appetit magazine by sending an email to alumnae@alphaphi.org

Q: If I pay my International alumnae dues, does that mean I don't have to pay dues for an alumnae chapter?

A: International alumnae dues are actually separate from alumnae chapter dues. They help contribute to the International Fraternity as a whole. If you choose to join a local chapter, you may also be asked to pay local dues. Alumnae chapter dues vary by chapter and help fund events, social programs, newsletters and fundraising efforts specific to that group.
