ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Gentry McCreary is the Associate Dean of Students and an Adjunct Professor of College Student Affairs Adminsitration at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. He served four years as the Director of Greek Affairs at the University of Alabama, and two years as Director of Greek Life at Middle Tennessee State University. He also serves as an affiliated consultant for the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management, where he works with campuses and organizations interested in hazing and substance abuse prevention. He is a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity from the University of Tennessee. He completed a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, and earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama. His research interests include moral development, the psychology of hazing and the development of brotherhood. In his free time, Gentry is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys backpacking, canoeing, golf, fishing and upland bird hunting with his German Shorthaired Pointer, Ellie and his English Setter, Hank.
