Solomon Receives Michaelanean Award

By Jennifer Frobish

On June 25, 2016, Alpha Phi International Fraternity awarded the Michaelanean Award to Susanne Solomon Solomon (Delta-Cornell) at its 71st Biennial Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. The Michaelanean Award was first presented at the Centennial Convention in 1972. It is presented each biennium to those alumnae who have shown outstanding loyalty and continuous devotion to Alpha Phi, serving at the local level.

Susanne has established herself as a housing expert within Alpha Phi. Her service began more than 25 years ago and has impacted several chapters throughout the state of New York. She has extensive knowledge of historical architecture and works hard to maintain the historical aspects of Delta’s chapter facility. She supervised a full renovation of the house, including a complete replacement of the 100-year-old plumbing system. Not one to simply direct, Susanne is known to get her hands dirty. If she’s not working as a physician, she’s planting flowers or doing minor repairs around the chapter house.

Alpha Phi is proud of Susanne’s service to the Fraternity and applauds her achievements.
